AWS credits for computer vision startups

Dedicated programme openLast checked 3 October 2026

The biggest pot for computer vision startups is AWS Credits for AI Startups: $200k+. That's on top of the standard Activate tiers.

Computer vision startups spend credits differently from most niches: the bill is driven by model tokens, GPU hours and data scanned, not by servers. The same product can cost $50 or $3,000 a month depending on model choice and how much data each request touches.

Does a computer vision company qualify?

  • Product startups (software or hardware you sell) qualify for Activate. Agencies, consultancies and dev shops that bill by the hour usually don't, unless they're building their own product.
  • Your company is usually under 10 years old, pre-Series B for the Provider tier, and hasn't had Activate credits before.
  • Past the startup stage? Established computer vision companies can look at business and migration funding instead.
  • Nonprofit or researcher? The AWS Imagine Grant and Cloud Credit for Research are separate from Activate.
